L-Proline Products

L-proline is an amino acid used to build proteins. The body can make it, so it is generally classified as nonessential, and it is also obtained from protein-containing foods.

Proline and its modified form hydroxyproline are major components of collagen's structure. L-proline powder supplies this amino acid, but adequate overall nutrition remains important and supplementation does not guarantee a change in collagen production.

Confirm that the label lists the L-form, then compare the amount per serving and any other ingredients. Use the labeled serving and remember that a single amino acid supplement is not a substitute for varied dietary protein.
